leftoverlounge.informe.com/index.phpAlready done before, I highly suggest joining that forum or LLC, because your misguided attempt to ruin ONM and get this place to join isn't going to work out well.

Bollocks. I'm not trying to ruin ONM at all. At all. I wouldn't. I'm still on ONM, I'm still as active there as before, but it doesn't take a bloody genius to understand it's not doing so great. And Mastercannon -- See the intro post for the answer.

"If you're here, it is because I think you've either proven to be a solid part of the ONM community or definitely have the potential to become so."
LOL WHUT! I swear 95% of onm doesn't even notice me >_>

I'm inclined to agree with Kamizoroe.
I don't want to join a forum only to piss on its chips immediately, but this reeks of LLC/LOL/TGF circa early 2007.
It's a nice idea, but it's misdirected. The onus really should be on making sure ONM is still in the hands of the community despite the agenda of the admins, rather than admitting defeat and starting new forums.
When I joined ONM, it was only to source a Wii as I realised it wasn't going to be as easy as I thought it would. I stuck around initially because I was so shocked by some of the bigoted, ignorant crap being spouted that I simply couldn't silently tolerate it. If all the more established, purportedly sensible members leave en masse, there's a risk that ONM will go back down the same road - I don't want a return to the days where a Nazi-enthusiast can sign up with the username 'SS Hyrulian Division' and no-one bats an eyelid, whether or not I'm unjustly banned.
ONM will always attract more 'new' members than a forum like this, both by design and by virtue of its attachment to a magazine - it's surely more desirable they're exposed to a pre-existing intelligent and open-minded userbase than simply being allowed to fester in their own idiocy. A lot of the enjoyment of discussion on ONM came directly from the disagreement, the opposition, and the argument - setting up a forum for 'the select few' is going to rip that right out.
Of course, all that notwithstanding, I am awesome, and I should never have been banned :winking smiley:. Suspended, maybe, but banned, nah. I've had a couple of quick looks back at ONM since my departure, and I've seen many, many lies about what warnings I apparently received and what rules I apparently was warned about breaking. The worst lie was probably that Chandra gave me '3 warnings', when he has never in fact PM'd me (if he had, I'd have posted them all over the shop, naturally?).
So, yeah. My ban was inevitable in that I did highlight an embarrassing incongruity that does throw ONM's integrity into question. Injustices notwithstanding though, I think it's for the greater good that people work within the corrupt framework rather than take their ball and go play on an invite-only pitch.

Well I'm here just in case a few more members suddenly get banned in ONM. Wreck, at least now I know what happened between the ban, and although the PM should have been kept as a PM, don't you think the integrity of the ONM staff has gone downhill since they've been lying to you and other members about the PM that occurred?
I have a couple of suggestions to improve the forum, but I'll be posting those on the Forum Feedback later.
This forum does have a chance to work if people stop inviting others to other forums. Just give this a chance, and hopefully it'll make ONM think twice before pressing their BAN button(s) (though there are one or two on there that do deserve it)
