First topic of this subforum ^_^
There are oodles of fantastic Japanese DS games that will probably never make it to our shores. Do you have any gems that you would recommend or any games that you wish would be localized so you can play them with better comprehension?
Here are some of my personal favourites:
Densetsu no Stafy / Stafi 4
Easily the best platformer I have ever played... The graphics are fantastic, the game has a good length and is usually available fairly cheaply on the old Play-Asia.
The bottom screen is used as a map of the level and shows where certain items are etc.
The only really possibly lengthy pieces of texts are in the filler sections on the various world maps... Apart from that, the game is really import friendly with various guides available on GameFAQs etc.
I'd happily pay full price for this game but was lucky enough to pick it up for £15 and for that price, I'd highly recommend this game or any of its 3 GBA prequels.

]Magkid: Slide Adventure DS
I only bought this game as it was on sale at Play-Asia but I've found it to be quite a gem. The peripheral is a little bulky but basically works like a laser mouse, allowing movements of the actual DS system to be mimicked in-game.
Having only played the first few levels of this game, I'm unsure of its length or level variation, as they all seem pretty generic at the moment. Levels usually involve you playing as a caterpillar-esque character sliding around various environments looking for things and/or adding other enemy caterpillars to your body, increasing your length.
For £10, this game is well worth it even if it is short lived as it tries something new, something different.

Nodame Cantabile DS
I wasn't expecting much from this animé/manga tie-in game but was pleasantly surprised from the £6 worth of game.
The gameplay is similar to that of the Ouendan series, expect the choice of music is more of the classical genre so this game might not appeal to everybody.
The game does have text breaks in the story mode which can be easily skipped but the actually game can be enjoyed fully with absolutely no comprehension of Japanese.
This game, aswell as having the main story mode and free play "conducting" mode, also has a Taiko no Tatsujin section which allows players to play through the songs from the game. I think this is a fantastic introduction to the Taiko series and if somebody were unsure as to whether to buy the games, this title is an imperative stepping stone.
The characters within the game are all familiar faces from the manga/animé but those unfamiliar with the series will enjoy this game no less than those with previous experience with the cast.

And finally.... How could you not see it coming?
Ouendan 1 & 2. The latter was available for about £15 recently so a nabbed a copy. Surely you must know of these games already?
Tchus =)
